Why I chose to study Japanese

Write in English why you chose to study Japanese.

I had interest in Japan since I was young, as it is a very close country from my own: Korea, and for that reason many cultures overlap. I travelled to Japan a several times. I really liked it, but I remember having a hard time not being able to communicate at all. So I assumed learning Japanese would help me get over this problem next time I visit Japan and enjoy the trip even more. Also, I hope to make some Japanese friends while sharing more common area in the language.
